SAY NO TO DRUGS, FEEL HOPEFUL

Addiction is a brain disease.

Drugs change how the brain works. People who are addicted can’t stop using drugs even when they really want to. Their priorities change and getting drugs can become more important than their loved ones, responsibilities, and life goals. Drug addiction can be treated, but recovery can take time sometimes a long time. Drug addiction often requires treatment throughout a person’s life. Even after a period of time without using drugs, an addicted person may have a relapse, meaning they start to use again. Relapse requires more or different treatment in order for him or her to stop using drugs again.

Compassion is a key to healing.

Psychological counselling is a big part that plays a vital role in healing a drug addict to recover. A one-on-one group therapy session helps a drug addict to open-up & explore themselves to the world. Yoga & meditation can help to get rid out of drugs. Meditation & mindfulness plays an important role in recovery as it is limited to the brain, it also reduces blood pressure, lowers the risk of stroke, strengthens the immune system, minimizes pain sensitivity & enhances cognitive function, healing & cleansing the inner soul. Many alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs have included meditation as a part of their treatment plan because it provides powerful support for addicts in recovering quickly.

Any addiction in excess is always bad for health.

It’s not that some people have willpower and some don’t. It’s that some people are ready to change and others are not. Addiction is not a moral failing. No person is bad or flawed. However, the reality of most, addictions, is that they require ongoing care to manage. Being in recovery is a lifelong commitment that will not always come easy. Recovery requires actions rather than intentions. Making lifestyle changes promotes personal growth & long-term addiction recovery.

How can one get rid of drug addiction & lead a healthy-happy lifestyle?
  1. Taking small daily actions to improve lifestyle and work towards your goals, such as walking for 15 minutes, or signing up for a new class to keep yourself busy is the only way to move forward.
  2. Inner change – changing the way you think and deal with emotions – is what will truly lead to long-term recovery.
  3. Activities such as volunteering, exercising & attending classes are good options.
  4. Quit smoking, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), suggests that they are more addicts who enter addiction treatment programmes & die from tobacco related issues than from the drug which initially pushed them to get treatment. If you are scared of relapsing while trying to quit smoking, or do not know how to quit, speak to a specialist – you do not have to do it alone.
  5. Spending quality time with family, friends & loved ones who understand what you have been through and are supportive of your new lifestyle.
  6. Diet and exercise are important in addiction recovery. Taking care of your overall physical health will lower your chances for relapse. A healthy mind and body go a long way in addiction recovery.
  7. Forgiving yourself and others can be a huge part of recovery. If you continue to hold on to resentments from the past, then your risk for relapse is high.
  8. Avoiding triggers by staying away from drug users or parties with drugs, or other situations that might lead to drug cravings.
  9. Protection from abuse or trauma.
  10. Changing your environment, getting enough rest, pamper yourself & spend time in nature, adopt a pet.

Recovery is about progression, not perfection.

Showing unconditional love & concern can help recover & inspire the drug addict to lead a healthy & happy life. If you as partner support and understand him/her no matter how severe their addiction is but you let them know that you still love & care about them. Let the person with the addiction know what you won't put up with, and don't be scared to set limits and follow through to show you aren't simply making empty threats or psychologically punishing them for their addictive behavior this would reconcile your relationship & would help the drug addict to recover.

No more car accidents, thanks to Autonomous Vehicles

As automobiles are becoming unsustainable, there have been many consequences such as the emission of carbon, high traffic and accidents. To control these, driverless cars have been proposed as a suitable alternative. Although this may potentially provide safety and efficiency benefits, there are major concerns around the public’s willingness to adopt the technology. These concerns relate to security, trust, privacy, reliability and liability. For all of us, self-driving technology is brand new. There’s a lot of talk about it, but it’s not yet clear how it will impact our lives. To increase safety on our roads, simply developing new technology is not enough. A better understanding of how humans and smart vehicles collaborate will make the adoption process simpler and successful in the long run. Self-driving cars promise a future with no accidents, reduced traffic, less congestion and maybe even lower transportation costs.

When it comes to the safety of Autonomous Vehicles, most of the accidents involving them have
been due to human error, so the bigger issue for the industry is what should Autonomous
Vehicles be doing to reduce accidents? Autonomous Vehicles will be dependent on sensors to
detect what is happening around them and today engineers are defining the right mix of sensors
that needs to be implemented – but they also need to consider the costs and computing power
that is required as both are limiting factors. The other key to vehicle safety will be how the software handles unexpected situations. All self-driving vehicles will have to make many decisions every second in order to make adjustments necessary to keep the driver safe.

Humans, not robots, still hold the wheel

Since the internet and smartphone applications have revolutionalised and synced adapting the smart life of our generations where driverless cars have now been deemed as one of the key disruptors in the next technology revolution along with drones and the internet of things that have been recognized as a key area for future research. Google’s self-driving car has become a hot topic in the media and governments around the world have begun to develop strategies to address the challenges that may result from self-driving vehicles.

Cars are evolving, but are drivers?

In the last few years, we have seen a steady rise in technology and new features in the automobile industry where the focus is on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADASs), the technology enables fully automated vehicles to drive themselves which includes automatic braking & lane assist that is designed to prevent driver’s distraction & improve driving safety. Car makers need to ensure that when it comes to the deployment of Autonomous Vehicles they are able to provide a safe and efficient computing platform. Driverless cars eliminate the anxiety of a potentially dangerous driver; they could also lead to less accountability. Responsible drivers would protect the vehicle from intruders, but driverless cars could deliver even better supervision. Together with vehicle-equipped technologies, human assistants can remotely monitor for and respond to, any potentially dangerous situations. For example, the system could detect sounds of conflict or hostile language through the in-vehicle conversational interface and alert emergency assistants to carry out appropriate intervention. This combination of sensors and cameras inside and outside of our future vehicles could also deter abusive behavior before it happens. For example, an internally facing camera could allow passengers to check the summoned car’s interior. The availability of devices and access to information would improve liability issues when unexpected accidents or inappropriate incidents occur, placing vulnerable passengers in control of their situation from the onset all the way through to their final destinations.

Safety is a social context. The context is different if you’re young or old, male or female; different if you’re in a familiar place or a foreign place; different if you’re with friends or strangers; different if you’re alone or with kids. Future autonomous systems should be able to respond appropriately to these different contexts. By extending the notion of personalization beyond typical preferences to personal safety. For example, an autonomous system could suggest a route through a populated area at night, instead of only suggesting time-efficient or scenic (yet deserted) routes.

The promise of Autonomous Vehicles is to provide safer mobility for all, so it’s crucial for everyone to play a part in designing and testing them. Now more than ever, we must challenge what we have come to accept in current mobility services and this time, get it right.

NFC – Revolutionary CLOUD Communication

A new era of  Mobile payments through digitization. The widespread adoption of smartphones, has increased the reliance on mobile data and the growing support for NFC –  "Near Field Communication". The ability to use location and payment information to provide value added services. NFC is a short range RFID technology that enables consumers to use their mobile as a wallet to make payments. NFC has improved the efficiency in risk alerting real-time & crisis management.

It connects the passenger or employee to report an incident at an ever-busy airport for issuing a boarding pass or upgrading the ticket, cancellation, status check, payment related issues & other scenarios.

Earlier, the employee or the passenger had to call, email the service desk agent to report an incident. Then, the service desk agent would ask the details, confirm the CUSS/CUPPS systems, it would route to the ground staff technical team that would connect, understand the issue from incident management and would resolve it accordingly which was time consuming but now with the new integrated system ‘NFC’ – reporting is much easier, that has enabled for all the CUPPS & CUSS related issues. It has reduced the reporting time from 4-5 minutes to 10-15 seconds. An instant reporting is reported within seconds. Integration with the existing incident management system gets resolved within minutes.

The new incident reporting process with NFC on Cloud is initiated with Wipro Technologies:

  • Staff/employee identifies the issue with CUSS/CUPPS
  • Employee/passenger scans the NFC tag on the CUSS/ CUPPS system using a NFC enabled smartphone
  • Information regarding the incident is sent to the Cloud system
  • An incident is created in the existing incident management system
  • A personalized notification is sent to the ground technical team on duty
  • The technical team resolves the issue

An average of 20 % of the incidents created are part of CUSS & CUPPS systems:

·         January – incident break-up: 19%
·         February – incident break-up: 20%
·         March - incident break-up: 8%

Digital monitoring & control of multiple parallel activities on aircraft are improved like ground staff, catering, fueling, baggage handling etc. Integration with immigration system & citizen identity management with government systems. NFC has been a great help to airport security with biometric based authentication to staff & passengers. NFC tag is capable of 10k readings which is more than 25 years of it is scanned every day at airports. Smartphones also make it possible to sign electronic documents with a digital signature. The entire transaction can take place electronically, without paper and printers.

The goal is to expand the options for mGov services, with industry-leading solutions for secure mobility that use NFC and other advanced technologies.

The keyless entry for everything - Future in your hands:

NFC is a, quick, simple, and proven secure. It is a trusted format for supporting mobile access to online government services. NFC provides a convenient way to securely store the mobile IDs, known as derived credentials, that make it safe to access online services.
  1. NFC has increased customer satisfaction can make payment transactions easy.
  2. Cuts down the downtime to wait in queue.
  3. Customers or users can also load coupons and promotions onto their smartphones for easy access during monetary transactions.
  4. Improved sales: Employees may also see a rise in sales. Workers can process transactions more quickly with NFC, enabling companies to increase daily profits.
  5. The NFC chip technology may also attract new customers who were unhappy with their experiences with other businesses and are looking for an alternative.
  6. Better employee communication.
  7. Companies that want to use NFC as a credit card processing alternative can benefit from reduced costs. Businesses will save money on paper since, merchants can email receipts to their customers.
  8. NFC can help companies to cut down on the number of necessary staff personnel. Customers will be able to move through lines and complete purchases with more efficiency, requiring fewer employees to process transactions.
  9. NFC technology may be the future of payment processing for businesses of all shapes and sizes.
  10. Encryption can help protect transferring data from being intercepted.

Sujalam Sufalam – Abhiyan 2018-2019

“SAVE WATER, SAFE LIFE”
There is drought everywhere. Farmers, labourers, Adivasi’s have no water to drink.

Day by day, the suicides of farmers are increasing & hence it has become a great challenge for their family members to survive. Though at some places the farmers do not commit suicide, their mental & financial conditions are getting worst day by day.
There's no work anywhere" said Maruti Konkani, a farmer from Nandurbar district in Maharashtra. Almost half of the Maharashtra state has been declared drought-hit with farmers from across the country & is seeking emergency help. The drought was declared in as many as 180 of the 350 tehsils in the state. The state reportedly received only 77% its average rainfall this year.
Distressed farmers came to Mumbai demanding drought declaration and seeking relief from the state. Public Works Department Minister Eknath Shinde said, "Government has declared relief measures for drought. Be it water, fodder for animals, water tankers, etc. everything will be provided."
Being a national NGO, “Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS) Sujalam Sufalam” has stepped into the nationwide footprint, working towards the benefit of all. It is a non-political, non-profit, NGO that coordinates with the local government agencies and volunteers for immediate relief support. It has kept aside the barriers of caste, community, religion, and political party.
BJS Sujalam Sufalam has participated in the various Disaster Response activities in all major disasters since 1993. BJS Sujalam Sufalam works for the social causes like rehabilitation of the children of suicidal farmer’s, drought relief and other disaster management.
BJS Sujalam Sufalam had earlier participated in the program contributed in 5 talukas making it drought free. Also, BJS Sujalam Sufalam has managed this program successfully in Beed, Latur & Usmanabad.
In the year 2017, with the help of Pani Foundation, BJS Sujalam Sufalam has made 400 villages from 30 districts of Maharashtra drought free. Then, BJS Sujalam Sufalam has realized the necessity of making Maharashtra drought free. Therefore, with the past experience BJS Sujalam Sufalam has taken up this challenge in association with the government in 2018, BJS Sujalam Sufalam has taken a revolutionary (CSR) approach towards the state Maharashtra Drought Free, starting with the district of ‘Buldhana’ with the aim of making the district drought free in a year.

                  “SAVE WATER, SAVE PLANET”

It has decided to inaugurate and start the project work on March 3rd, 2018 & has proposed that it would be completed with the development of the catchment area in the district by April 2019. The machines will be working for the ‘Water Cup’ competition of Paani Foundation from 22nd April till 22nd May, except three talukas in Buldhana. The competition brings villagers together to get trained in watershed management and perform voluntary manual labour or shramdaan to build watershed structures. This year, 4,000 villages from 75 talukas in Maharashtra took part in the competition. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, who strongly supported the movement and also performed Shramdaan, generously granted Rs. 1.5 lakh per village toward the diesel costs.

Satyameva Jayate Water Cup competition 2018 was announced on 12th January at Mumbai. Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, Shri. Amir Khan, actor and founder- Paani Foundation, Smt. Kiran Rao, Shri. Satyajit Bhatkal, Shri Shantilal Muttha- Founder BJS, renowned industrialist Shri. Ratan Tata, Shri. Mukesh Ambani was among the dignitaries present on this occasion.

The vision and mission are to make the entire district drought-free with the help of 100-150 JCB / machines, in a year. Including active participation from the Government of Maharashtra, District administration, various NGOs, Corporate funding agencies, Public representatives and villagers in this campaign. For this purpose, BJS Sujalam Sufalam is collaborating with organizations like Mission Samruddhi, Swadesh Foundation, Shantilal Muttha Foundation, Desh Apanaiye and a few others. Conducting programs for the empowerment of women, tree- plantation & basic sanitation in Buldhana district. Generating awareness about rural development and importance of water among the people of the district, promoting & initiating the campaign to ‘Save Water’ and apply different methodologies & technologies to recycle water management would help to initiate the campaign. Documenting the project from start to finish for the same with the successful completion of this one-year pilot will be implemented to the same model that can be followed and scaled up in any other districts to make it drought free.

CELEBRATE THE NEW-YEAR 2019, WELCOMING & GIFTING YOURSELF A PROPERTY IN PUNE

Pune is the second largest city in Maharashtra and the eight largest cities in India. It consists of two municipal corporations, Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. This city has an impeccable record of highest growth within a span of 20 years. It has always played an important role in India’s economic development. It is also famous for its rich cultural, and educational institutions. As IT industry is booming, the job opportunities are tremendously increasing for the new graduates and IT professionals. The automotive industry, being the most influential. IT and education are the other major sectors here.

Pune has a very cosmopolitan, young and urbane crowd. It is known as the Oxford of the East because of the presence of a number of educational institutes and colleges, due to its rapid growth rate, this metropolitan city is attracting various IT companies to set up their base and corporate offices here. Also, art lovers have a lot to explore by visiting places of their interest. Well-paying companies have increased the demand for affordable and luxury properties in Pune.

The growth of the real estate industry of Pune is not a temporary phenomenon. The city will remain in a growing phase in the coming years. Therefore, the main focus of property developers is on the improvement of its infrastructures such as the construction of new roads, broadening of existing roads, construction of flyovers and subways. So that they can reduce traffic jams and making the public transport more efficient. With these facilities, Pune will continue to grow and prosper shortly.

With the favourable price situation arising in the residential property market, genuine home buyers are investing in residential properties in Pune. Owning an apartment or land so that they can build a dream house is the dream of many of us. However, the rise in prices is inevitable, buyers with a need will buy the property. With the proliferation of the internet and the rise of property portals and websites of agents and builders, today’s digitally-savvy customers can short-list multiple properties in a short period of time, as per their requirements. The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA) also makes it mandatory for projects to be registered with the state’s regulatory authority and for information pertaining to the project to be uploaded on the authority’s website.

Property buyers, hence, can cross-check and validate information from multiple sources online, before taking a call on-site visits or final purchase. Festival-centric campaigns conducted online, by real estate players, also ensure visibility to unique projects across India. Such initiatives assist the customers to stay abreast with the latest developments.

Rising population is increasing the demand for residential property in Pune. Right now, Pune is expanding, and barren areas are converted into townships and urban centres. Commercial and residential properties are attracting the attention of genuine buyers and investors. Foreign investment in real estate of Pune is also witnessed.

The decline in the real industry had brought affordability and availability of residential properties in areas that were previously out of reach for middle-class buyers but right now, Pune’s real estate market is buzzing with activities and the city is extending its borders to accommodate new residential, commercial & industrial areas.

The question arises where to buy property? So, there are five main markets for real estate purpose namely Central, South, North, West, and East Pune. Each of the zones filled with different facilities and specialities. It is wise to take overlook of each and every zone before buying any property in Pune real estate market. Nowadays, it is not wrong to say, Pune’s real estate market is the most promising realty market for investment. It is an excellent time to purchase properties in Pune. Even, there is no need to wonder if we call Pune as ‘The Queen of Deccan’ because the city is habitual to discover her rightful location at the last in the real estate durbar of India.

“Pune is not just about square feet, but wise indoor spaces”.

The areas that have the highest real estate values in the city are Deccan Gymkhana, Hinjewadi, Model Colony and Koregaon Park but some cannot afford such a high rate. Therefore, top builders in Pune are offering the best residential properties in new areas like the Camp, Shivaji Nagar, Kalyani Nagar, Wakdewadi, FC Road, JM Road, and Nagar Road. These areas are economic as compared to the other areas of the city. That’s why the areas surrounding the prime areas of the city are driving the construction and infrastructure boom. Builders and property developers are trying to tap this opportunity and are trying to upgrade the transport link between the prime areas and the new areas. This will help them to improve the prospects of the property. For example, there is a new bridge, built between Koregaon Park and Kalyani Nagar, which has cut down the distance between these two places by about half an hour. So, the people who have their jobs in Koregaon Park can seek affordable residential properties, Kalyani Nagar.

SECURE DIGITAL INDIA - Powering connections with secure digitization

Digital India refers to the creation and delivery of digital infrastructure through electronic manufacturing to empower the Indian citizen by providing all public and private sector services electronically with ease. The key word in the modern digital world is “Account” which is not only confined to one’s banking and financials but acts as a gateway to access all the electronic platforms. Reverting to older, time-consuming practices like paper transactions, money order transfers, queuing up in banks or writing cheques is outdated; digitalization has made our life easier with one click on our smartphones.

Reliance Jio’s user base ran into millions within weeks, thanks to Aadhaar ID verification. Passports are now issued in two weeks with Aadhaar from six months earlier. Tax returns are filed in real time, thanks to e-filing. Digital India will continue to expand — less than 10% of transactions are digital at present. Yet digital India needs to build trust and greater security. The problem with government databases is that these are live, accessed by multiple users within the government and outside, that multiplies the security challenge. The government is the biggest player in digital India and there are multiple user agencies accessing the data to complete their tasks. These include Banks, Telco’s, Insurance companies, Credit Card issuers, Mobile Wallets, E-Commerce companies, Hospitals, Security and Gas agencies etc. Linking Aadhaar with everything is a risk if done without adequate checks and balances. There are good uses and bad uses of data. In a digital world, it’s a never-ending cat-and-mouse game, with hackers trying to breach networks. The greatest threat to digital India could arise from hackers residing anywhere in the world.

About 20 years back, 40-bit encryption was considered high-tech. Today it can be breached in minutes and companies have moved to 128-bit and 256-bit encryption. Databases like Aadhaar are secured with 2048-bit encryption. There aren’t enough geeks to protect digital assets. Digital India needs top professionals who can build hack-proof systems, block chain and quantum-computing era ready and ensure 24x7 protections against threats. The trouble is we don’t know the bad users, anything can be hacked, trust us we secure your journey with QUICK HEAL (Anti-Virus).

Today, our inventions are the foundation of so many of the devices and applications that are enhancing our everyday lives. Creation & remembering passwords for all the electronic accounts becomes a hassle & can be a threat to secure Digital India Campaign.

Do's & Don'ts To Protect Your Data:
  • Activate SMS alerts for all financial transactions
  • Avoid common passwords across platforms (like same password for bank account & facebook)
  • Use strong passwords & avoid writing down passwords
  • Be careful about what personal information you share over the phone
  • When downloading free apps (or even paid ones) be aware that they access address books & other information on smartphones, check if you really need them
  • Avoid doing sensitive transactions like mobile banking using public Wi-Fi
  • Be careful what you print/copy on public printers (even office printers/copiers)
  • Avoid accessing bank account transactions, social media in cyber cafes or other people's devices
Biometrics-based Aadhaar has helped remove fake beneficiaries and ghost accounts. However, despite an unbreakable 2048 bit encryption of most government databases, 100% security may never be possible. The ratio of the risk of financial fraud in India is 8:1. Fraud in India has been under check due to Reserve Bank of India’s insistence on the tighter, two-factor authentication and because the number of people using digital services frequently is still low. More than 50% e-shoppers still insist on cash on delivery option.

Often users store personal information on their smartphones. They download free apps like WhatsApp or Truecaller. These apps want to make your life easier, but at the cost of sharing your address book, an app could seek permission in its long list of terms & conditions which nobody cares to read — to copy every word you key in, compromising security. Here’s where the hacking & data theft takes place. Facebook and Instagram have user’s name and birth dates, besides frequent updates. Amazon, Flipkart and other E-commerce companies know addresses, mobile numbers, debit card numbers & credit card numbers. Over the next few years, if users are able to do banking via links, say, on Facebook, it will multiply risks of security. The biggest challenge is that your data is not just with your bank there’s an entire ecosystem of players and not all of them run their shops with the same level of rigor and controls that banks do. Users need to be aware of what they do with hotspots as well as before connecting to public Wi-Fi. Also, using the corner photocopy shop to get Aadhaar or passport copies is not without risks. These machines come with hard disks that store copy or print.
